ABSTRACTCefalu' is a famous seaside tourist resort, of Arab-Norman origin, located on the north-western coast of Sicily. It is located 70 km from Palermo. From Greek "Kefaloidion" which means head, thanks to the shape of the suggestive promontory that dominates Cefalu ', that is the so-called Rocca, which is considered the ancient town of Cefalu', since the Greek period. On the Rocca, in fact, we find the megalithic walls, the famous Temple of Diana and the ruins of the ancient Byzantine Castle. In the current historical center of Cefalu ', we visit the following monuments that take on the charm of the Arab-Norman itinerary of Cefalu': The Cathedral with its wonderful Byzantine mosaics depicting Christ Pantocrator, the two Towers (with the possibility of visiting inside), the Jewish Quarter, Porta Pescara and the Marina, a suggestive place to perform the Antinna a 'Mari for the feast of San Salvatore, the Medieval Washhouse, the Mandralisca Museum and the Osterio Magno.

Before starting our walk, I will invite you to admire the wonderful sandy promenade of Cefalu ', which is located just a few minutes from the historic center.
We will immerse ourselves in the characteristic streets of Cefalu ', suggestive for the famous "lumachelle" stones.
Our guided tour will allow us to visit the Medieval Washhouse, the place where Cefaludese women used to wash their clothes, the Marina which we can reach through the only existing door, called Porta Pescara. We will continue along Via Mandralisca, famous thanks to the rich Mandralisca family (Baron Enrico Pirajno di Mandralisca) where he built the Mandralisca Museum,with the famous portrait of the unkown by the artist "Antonello da Messina". We continue up Piazza Duomo to admire the Cathedral of Cefalu'.
Visiting the interior of the Cathedral we are enchanted by the charm of the Byzantine mosaics depicting the Christ Pantocrator, original manufacture of the Arab workers, during the Morman period, in which King Roger II reigned.
Our excursion will end at 5.00 pm in Piazza Duomo, carrying within you a commemorable memory of our historical and artistic heritage which belongs to UNESCO.
